This is not your basic 1965 Mustang. This car respects the original roots of the 1965 GT350 Mustang while being built better – much, much better! This professionally built Mustang has everything done new while still maintaining the feel of an original car.
This beautiful 1965 Mustang is neither fully original or a full resto-mod… It has been mildly and tastefully modified to pay tribute to the original car while adding some very nice modifications to make it comfortable and downright FUN to drive!
Let's start with the outside. The paint and body work was fully done by the experts at Cobra Automotive. Few can do bodywork like this in black and have it look absolutely show quality! In the cockpit you will find loads of black leather and black carpet, a pack of six original style Stewart Warner Gauges, Glovebox with period correct Flasher unit, Hi/Low Rear View Mirror, a Retro Air Conditioner with Modern Heat and Air Handler, GT350 style Rocker Horn Switch, . Also on the dash you will see the original radio which has been rebuilt with Bluetooth capability and modern sound backed with an Alpine Amplifier. A classic GT350 Style Moto-Lita Wood Rimmed Steering Wheel looks right and feels perfect in your hands.
Now let's talk about what is hiding under the hood scoop – a Cobra Automotive 363CID bored and stroked 302 topped with a Holley Sniper Stealth Electronic Fuel Injection system putting out over 500HP! This modern Holley EFI system features full timing control of the MSD Electronic Ignition, custom mapping and tuning to get this beast perfectly dialed in.
The exhaust is a work of art all by itself. Tri-Y Stainless Steel Headers feed into a massive Dual Exhaust System provide a serious street car sound that is music to any motorhead's ears. But remember there is more to this car than meets the eye – and ear… A touch of the remote opens up the exhaust for an open header sound that no one will ever forget! True GT350 race car vibes at the touch of a button!
All this power goes to the rear end through a Twin Disc SST Hydraulic Clutch and Tremec TKX 5 Speed Manual Transmission connected to a custom transmission mount and drive shaft to a 9 inch 3:73 rear end with Disc Brake Conversion. Speaking of brakes, the Front Brakes are Cobra Automotive's giant 12” competition Front Disc Brake kit which is the largest Vintage legal Disc Brake setup you can run with 15” wheels on any early Mustang. The kit comes with 12” x 1-1/4” directionally ventilated and stress relieved rotors, billet 6061 aluminum hats, and large Kelsey-Hayes cast iron 4 Piston Calipers. Also included are billet steel caliper mounting brackets and Race Spindles.
Handling is updated via Tubular Upper and Lower Chassis Brace, Cal Track Traction Bars, Global West Front Control Arms and Castor Links, Progressive Front Springs, 4.5 Rear Leaf Springs, and Double Adjustable QA1 Shocks on all four corners. Further accentuating the driving experience is a Borgeson Power Steering Box.
Other touches include a full chassis undercoating, new chassis harness, one inch Master Cylinder with Booster, Dewitt's Heavy Duty Radiator, and Custom Brushless Radiator Fan. The trunk is beautifully finished and includes a mounted Fire Extinguisher. An indoor Car Cover is also included.
